Name: Kim Mattina
Where do you currently live?: Phoenix, AZ
Current occupation: Corporate Trainer
Describe some of your favorite activities.: Cooking, horseback riding, hiking, game nights with friends
How would close friends and family describe you?: An optimist, slightly OCD, self critical, overly analytical, fun loving, kind and caring...but a bitch when pushed.
Name a few fun facts about yourself no one would guess just by looking at you.: Served in the Air Force. Received over 100 medals and trophies for swimming. Registered Tribal member.
Do you have a favorite quote?: You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
What is your strategy going into the game?: Build strong ties, but not be afraid to break them (for once!). Don't come off as too strong or too strategic at the beginning...keep that target on someone else.
Which past Sequester player did you like the most and why?: I should say me...but I won't. I know I played the game to win in Season 1, but humility wasn't my strong suit. See, I'm learning still. :) Even though I hate him (lol), Drew is an amazing player. He's cold and conniving during the game...but is great at establishing relationships. He definitely plays with his head and not his heart.
What would you say your biggest weakness is in a game like Sequester?: Being too honest and easy to read. But, I'm working on that. It's pretty obvious when I think you're full of shit, so I need to work on my poker face to convince people that I believe them or trust them...even if I don't. Also, I'm too loyal. I guess I expect people to have my back as much as I have theirs...but they never do! So, while I need to trust people, I need to be confident in cutting them, as a strategic game move, in order to get the the end game and have a chance to win it.
What type of person is your biggest threat in a game like Sequester?: The "Charmer"...the person that is socially engaging and flirty. They are usually the ones most full of shit and the one that you smile and nod and agree with, but have to go early because they will build an army that will carry them to the end. Get them before they get you kind of people.
What type of personalities would you describe as opposite of yours?: Super quiet people. I look at them as sneaky because you never know what they're thinking!
What do you think is the most common mistake that people make in a game like this?: Coming on strong at the beginning of the game. But, with a limited amount of time, it's important to establish some early relationships. I think that underestimating other's abilities, physical or mental or their strategy, is a fatal flaw.
If you win Sequester what do you predict the final vote count to be?: If I get to the end, I think I will win 5-2.
